Jungbauer:
Humans have little impact on global warming - By Bob Williams -
Recent trends in global temperatures cannot be attributed to human activities,
according to Sen. Mike Jungbauer (R-Dist.48), who gave a presentation
on global warming to 35 residents, including Rep. Bud Nornes (R-10a)
in Fergus Falls on Wednesday. "I was impressed with his knowledge,
background and passion for detail," Nornes said. A global climate
change survey from the National Registry of Environmental Professionals
shows that 34 percent of environmental scientists and practicioners
disagree that global warming is a serious problem facing the planet.
"The temperature of Earth is always changing" Jungbauer said.
"It's pretty weird thinking, to think we can control temperature."

Global
warming controversy generates heat - Scientists challenge prof -
By Samara Kalk Derby - Since it was reported this month by The Capital
Times, Professor Emeritus Reid Bryson's anti-establishment position
against man-made global warming has provoked floods of interest, great
indignation and -- particularly among his fellow University of Wisconsin
scientists -- no shortage of exasperation. (06/30/07)
Global warming
as a hook you can hang anything on - The global warming craze is
a bonanza for scientists. If you can find some connection to global
warming for what you want to research, your chances of getting funding
are much increased. The story below is an example of that in action.
The justification for the research in terms of global warming is however
deeply flawed - but flawed in a way that few non-scientists would recognize.
Even assuming that global warming will continue, see if you can see
at least two flaws in the proposal below. Answers at the foot of the
article. (06/30/07)
Alarmist
global warming claims melt under scientific scrutiny - BY JAMES
M. TAYLOR In his new book, The Assault on Reason, Al Gore pleads, "We
must stop tolerating the rejection and distortion of science. We must
insist on an end to the cynical use of pseudo-studies known to be false
for the purpose of intentionally clouding the public's ability to discern
the truth." Gore repeatedly asks that science and reason displace
cynical political posturing as the central focus of public discourse.

Hypocrisies Exposed as Live Earth Concerts Near - By Noel Sheppard
- As the world prepares for a deluge of Live Earth concerts featuring
the Global Warmingist-in-Chief himself, more and more of his inconvenient
hypocrisies are being exposed by scientists and writers across the planet.
The most recent exposé was written by a senior fellow of the
Heartland Institute, James M. Taylor. The op-ed, published Saturday
by the Chicago Sun-Times, deliciously addressed the real assault on
reason not covered in soon-to-be-Dr. Al Gore's most recent work of political
science fiction. (06/30/07)
NBC's Al
Gore 'Live Earth' Boosting On Air Began on Friday -- Eight Days Early
- By Tim Graham - At the end of Friday's Today show on NBC, the marketing
of Al Gore's Live Earth concerts began, just eight days shy of NBC's
big three-hour Live Earth concert in prime time, hosted by NBC anchor
Ann Curry and Carson Daly. (Not to mention the other 72 hours donated
to Gore by NBC Universal.) NBC's Friday guest was David DeRothschild,
author of "The Live Earth Global Warming Survival Handbook."
Like a good NBC employee, anchor Natalie Morales praised the climate-crisis
cause: "Fantastic effort. It's going to raise a lot of awareness."
The author mostly made the usual plugs for compact-fluorescent bulbs
and other electricity savings, but the strange part (at least for late
June) was urging everyone to wear a sweater and turn the thermostat
down. Did they think they were recording a segment for Christmas break?

The
Seeds of the Global Warming Police State - By Robert Tracinski -
Czech President Vaclav Klaus, drawing on his memories of Soviet oppression,
recently declared that the global warming hysteria had replaced Communism
as "the biggest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy,
and prosperity." The environmentalists continue to do their best
to prove him right. (06/29/07)
Global
warming? - First, let me emphasize that being an outdoorsman, I,
too, do not want our waters polluted or our air quality to suffer. However,
this big "the sky is falling" mentality about greenhouse gases
and humans causing global warming is frankly nonsense. Every so many
years, another prediction of a major catastrophy makes its way into
our headlines (30 years ago it was global cooling, the coming of another
ice age). This mass hysteria is fueled by reports of ice caps melting,
threats of oceans rising, tipping points being reached, leading to our
doom, and on and on it goes. (06/29/07)
Follow
the Global Warming Money - Interesting global warming story. Oh.
I've got actually two interesting global warming stories. The first
one here from JunkScience.com, Steve Milloy. "Should conservatives
give up the fight just as the tide is turning in their favor in the
debate over global warming? "In the cover story of the June 25
National Review, software company CEO Jim Manzi wrote that conservatives
should stop 'denying' that humans are warming the planet and instead
figure out how to use global warming to 'peel off' 1 percent of the
vote in the 2008 presidential election. Manzi claims that this strategy
could represent a 'principled stand' for a 'clever candidate.' But Manzi's
strategy, in fact, represents the snatching of defeat from the jaws
of victory -- and all for relatively few votes of uncertain, if any,
political value. (06/29/07)
IPCC Scientists
Challenge Al Gore's View of Global Warming Consensus - By Noel Sheppard
- The chinks in the armor that is a supposed scientific consensus regarding
man's role in global warming continued to grow this week when it was
identified that many of the folks involved in the most recent report
from the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change were
not in agreement with the study's findings. Didn't hear about this?
Well, how could you? Nobody reported it! (06/29/07)
A new level of absurdity...
Global

in the Asia-Pacific region due to health problems arising from global

Manmade
Global Warming: The Real Assault on Reason - By Marc Sheppard -
In the opening chapter of The Assault on Reason, its seldom reasonable
author accuses the Bush administration of exploiting people's fears
"to short-circuit debate and drive the public agenda without regard
to the evidence, the facts, or the public interest." (06/29/07)
Blame it on Capitalism.
A
new war on the planet? - John Bellamy Foster - During the last year
the global warming debate has reached a turning point. Due to the media
hype surrounding Al Gore's film An Inconvenient Truth, followed by a
new assessment by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC),
the climate sceptics have suffered a major defeat. (06/29/07)
Al
Gore and Global Warming - Science has become politicized - Environmentalism

by years of tenure. (06/28/07)

The
Darfur Genocide and Global Warming - By Fred Thompson - Recently,
the new UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon said that the root cause of
the current genocide in Darfur is ... global warming. Now if you've
been following the tragedy of the Darfur region in the African nation
of Sudan, you know how absurd that statement is. (06/28/07)
Global
Warming Update - We have some fabulous global warming news here
today, starting with this from the French News Agency. The headline:
"Climate Change Behind Darfur Killing." Do you realize this?
That the genocide and the big murdering, killing going on in Darfur
is because of global warming. This is according to the UN Secretary
General Ban Ki-moon. He said that the slaughter in Darfur was "triggered
by global climate change and that more such conflicts may be on the
horizon." This is in an article that was published on June the
16th. "'The Darfur conflict began as an ecological crisis, arising
at least in part from climate change,' Mr Ban said in a Washington Post
opinion column. UN statistics showed that rainfall declined some 40
per cent over the past two decades, he said, as a rise in Indian Ocean
temperatures disrupted monsoons. 'This suggests that the drying of sub-Saharan
Africa derives, to some degree, from man-made global warming,' the South
Korean diplomat wrote. 'It is no accident that the violence in Darfur
erupted during the drought,' Mr Ban said in the Washington daily."

IPCC 'Not in Business of Climate Prediction' - By Pam Meister -
Not coming to a media outlet near you: Kevin Trenberth, an advisor to
the UN's Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), made some
startling admissions regarding the IPCC's use of computer General Circulation
Modules (GCMs) (h/t Moonbattery). Professor Bob Carter, a geologist
writing for Australia's News.com, has the scoop: In a remarkable contribution
to Nature magazine's Climate Feedback blog, Trenberth concedes GCMs
cannot predict future climate and claims the IPCC is not in the business
of climate prediction. This might be news to some people. Among other
things, Trenberth asserts " ... there are no (climate) predictions
by IPCC at all. And there never have been". Instead, there are
only "what if" projections of future climate that correspond
to certain emissions scenarios. (06/28/07)

Growing in France, Switzerland, and Washington: Will Media Care?
- By Noel Sheppard - One of the pet peeves of anthropogenic global warming
skeptics is how the media and climate change alarmists like soon-to-be-Dr.
Al Gore only address events supporting that which they conflate and
abuse data to prove. A perfect example is the discussion concerning
receding glaciers, as these folks will either ignore when such recession
began, or the other possible environmental issues that many scientists
believe to be responsible. Maybe even worse, the media alarmists will
always ignore information that might throw a monkey wrench into the
position they're trying to advance. (06/28/07)

Warming Update: First Snow in Johannesburg and Pretoria Since 1981 and
1968 - By Noel Sheppard - As the worm has clearly turned on all
this global warming hooey, it seems appropriate to begin recording COLD
events across the planet not just to highlight the foolishness, but
also to infuriate those still buying into the junk science. With that
in mind, it snowed in parts of South Africa Tuesday that haven't seen
the frosty white stuff in many decades. Thanks, global warming! (06/27/07)

GLOBAL COOLING... AND IT'S DEADLY - By: Phil Brennan - Unless you've

form of communication with the outside world it should become obvious
that the world has been undergoing some pretty violent episodes of extreme
weather, destruction by fire of vast forest areas, and incredible amounts
of rainfall resulting in floods of an unprecedented magnitude from Texas
to England and just about everyplace else. (06/27/07)

According to the website created by one of Armstrong's students, the
Global Warmingist-in-Chief has yet to respond. However, there are some
updates concerning the matter that folks might find interesting. First,
what follows is the actual letter sent to Gore by Armstrong on June

Woman Blaming Wildfires on Environmental Regulations - By Brad Wilmouth
- On Tuesday's NBC Nightly News, while reporting from Lake Tahoe, correspondent
George Lewis relayed one homeowner's complaint that environmental regulations
had contributed to the danger of wildfires in the area. She further
contended that the only reason her home survived was because she had
cleared away brush near her home in violation of the law. Lewis: "She
blames environmentalists and bureaucrats for creating rules that, in
her opinion, increased the fire hazard. Says she had to break the law
to clear brush off adjacent federal land." (06/27/07)

power plants at the unprecedented rate of four a month from now on if
nuclear energy is to play a serious part in fighting global warming,
a leading think-tank said on Wednesday. Not only is this impossible

research commissioned by the Brotherhood of St Laurence has shown that
while the poor have a much smaller "carbon footprint" than
wealthy households, they could end up paying a much higher proportion

for about 22 tonnes of emissions, are responsible for less than half
the emissions of rich, tertiary-educated households, who account for
close to 58 tonnes. (06/26/07)
Carbon
Cops - Robin Oliver, reviewer - Sean Fitzgerald and Lish Fejer would
like to change the way we live. This is an abundantly cheerful cautionary
tale about the amount of carbon emissions pumped into the atmosphere
from our homes. The message is that we contribute to global warming
by feathering our nests with electric gadgets, swimming pools, inefficient
lighting and car trips to school instead of community "walking
school bus" crocodile files. Then come frequent shopping excursions

documentary An Inconvenient Truth - in which he turned his rather drab
PowerPoint presentation on climate change into a cinematic warning to
the world about man's toxic impact on the planet - has generated miles
of newspaper column inches. He's won widespread praise from greens for
converting "ordinary people" (ie, the previously uncaring
popcorn-chomping masses) to the green cause. He's been given a telling-off
by some climate scientists for twisting the data in order to send a
moral message about mankind's destructiveness (1). Others have accused
him of being a hypocrite: apparently Gore, who has two very big homes,
used 221,000 kilowatt hours of electricity in 2006, 20 times the American
national average (2). And now, in the latest post-Truth twist, Gore
has been challenged to a $20,000 wager that he is wrong on global warming.

React Angrily to Global Warming Column - Is it heresy to suggest the
debate isn't over? - By Charles J. Murray, Senior Technical Editor
-- Design News, June 25, 2007Remember, you heard it here first: Global
warming raises your blood pressure. I say this with confidence, having
spent the past three weeks reading e-mails from scores of Design News
readers who saw a column of mine about global warming (DN 4.9.07). The
common thread among most of the respondents was anger. A few wrote to
agree with me and then proceeded to vent about the politics behind the
subject. Many more, though, e-mailed to tell me I was wrong in a multitude
of ways. Those readers insisted global warming is no longer a debatable
subject and told me I was horribly out of touch for believing otherwise.
Even my friend, colleague and chief editor, John Dodge, chided me. In

suggestion that global warming is a media invention, which he all but
says." (06/25/07)

production is bigger than ever before. Scientists can debate climate
change and some politicians can deny it's happening, but it's a fact
that England's vineyards produced 50% more wine last year. The vines
are budding earlier each year, and this year Denbies Wine Estate, the
biggest single estate vineyard in Britain, reported the first bud on
April 14th, the earliest ever recorded. The vines normally only bud
at the end of April. (06/23/07)
Other
nations have impact on warming - It's called global warming, but
we're being told to take it personally. Al Gore's green army is convinced
that global warming is human-caused and that each human - especially
each American - can make a difference in stalling the dangerous effect.
Listening to scientists on the other side of the debate, I find myself
disagreeing with the Gore position. More than anything, I've become
convinced, solar activity that dwarfs man's power, is the source of
global warming - whether the globe be Earth or Mars. (06/23/07)

Media Blame
America For China's CO2 Emissions - By Noel Sheppard - When it was

outlets totally ignoring the revelation, and a few actually blaming
the problem on - wait for it! - the United States. I kid you not. However,
before we address that stupidity, it first must be relayed that not
one of the television news outlets bothered reporting the Chinese CO2

a joke?" Well, an environmental group called Worldwatch Institute
appears to share Crow's concerns about Americans using too much toilet
paper (h/t Planet Gore). (06/21/07)
FINALLY!
THE TRUTH ABOUT GLOBAL WARMING - By Gunther Schnitzel - "The
sun causes global warming, Gopa. Didn't they teach you that in school?
Dumb question!" (06/21/07)
Debunking
global warming alarmism - Here are some "inconvenient truths"
- There is no scientific consensus on global warming. Climate is always
changing, with or without man. Hurricanes are not getting worse; our
tendency to build houses in their path is getting greater. Many big
businesses lobby for global warming policies that will increase their
profits... and our costs. (06/21/07)
Global
warming theory is phony - The global warming theory states that
carbon dioxide rises into the stratosphere, forming a shield around
the earth and, like a greenhouse, traps heat onto the earth's surface.
Basic chemistry and the law of gravity, combined, verify this is impossible.

Some
evangelical arguments on global warming are theologically problematic,
Moore tells U.S. Senate commitee - By Tom Strode - WASHINGTON (BP)--Southern
Baptists and other conservative evangelicals support environmental protection
but do not believe the Bible provides a "blueprint" for government
policies on global warming, members of the U.S. Senate were told in
a recent hearing. (06/21/07)
Proliferating
icebergs may ease global warming - An increase in drifting ice is
creating a vast new ecosystem of plankton, krill and seabirds that may
absorb some of the carbon dioxide that drives up temperatures. - By
Amber Dance, Times Staff Writer - The proliferation of drifting Antarctic
icebergs caused by rising temperatures is creating a vast new ecosystem
of plankton, krill and seabirds that may have the power to absorb some
of the carbon dioxide that is driving global warming, scientists reported
today. (06/21/07)
Peer
Review - It is perhaps rather curmudgeonly to add a few "yes
buts" when someone has paid you a bit of a compliment, but more
needs to be said on the subject of peer review and editors, as raised
by Charles Warren Hunt in Greenie Watch. There is certainly no question
that the system is corruptible and has been corrupted, as ancient memories
related in these pages have testified. Those were the days when science
was free from the pressures of the new religious elite, and the situation
is far, far worse now. (06/20/07)
Will the
Media Report "Dangerous Global Cooling"? - By Jake Gontesky
- Could it possibly be that the mainstream school of thought surrounding
climate change has it all wrong? While the media continues its love-fest
with the alarmist non-scientists like Al Gore, climatologists and other
atmospheric scientists continue research that may turn the conventional
wisdom on its head. (06/20/07)

Extremists
Abound in Green Movement But Don't Expect Media to Say That - By
Julia A. Seymour - Environmentalism is hip, green celebrities are "very
sexy" and saving the planet is "simple," according to
the media. It is certainly not "extreme" as far as journalists
are concerned. The deluge of celebrity books, films and even rock concerts
is making green look good - because journalists leave out the cost to
individuals, businesses and the economy. (06/20/07)
Global Warming

to stand in her way, an absurdity according to retired physics professor
Howard Hayden, a physics professor for 32 years at the University of
Connecticut, an editor of a monthly newsletter called "The Energy

Solar Energy Won't Run the World. You think SUVs are the cause of glaciers

CBS Worries
That Global Warming Will Destroy Eiffel Tower, Global Tourism -
By Julia A. Seymour - Apocalyptic rants about what global warming will
do to civilization have become so frequent it's hard to keep up, but
CBS "Evening News" had a monumental one on June 19. Mark Phillips
reported an international study that said climate change could threaten
the $662 billion international tourism industry - because rising sea
levels and humidity will supposedly destroy monuments and sites like
the Tower of London, the Eiffel Tower, the Parthenon and so on. (06/20/07)
National
Security and Global Warming - On today's Diane Rehm Show, a panel

What

and their followers to suggest radical measures to do something about
the weather, and to do it right now. (06/19/07)
Ninth

it set national gas mileage standards for SUVs and pick-up trucks. (06/19/07)
Misguided

An
effort to kick global warming, literally - Roger Pielke Jr., a professor
of environmental studies at the University of Colorado, said that the

Independent
Voices: Global Warming: Threat or Hysteria? - By Alan Hall, your
EWI Independent observer and correspondent - We had good responses to
our request that readers share their experience with the bear market
of 2000-2002. Below are two more responses, and one last response to
our question on mania (sorry, it hid in my junk mail folder and I found
it only today). We'd like to pose another question: What do you think
about the climate change issue? Specifically, what are your thoughts
and observations about our sudden collective interest in it? The issue
is hotly divided, and seen as everything from the end of the world to
yet another investment opportunity. In many ways, fear of climate change
is grabbing for the global steering wheel. (06/18/07)
Deeper
Into the Dustbin of Silly Science: The Continuing Collapse of the Global
Warming Hypothesis - By Michael R. Fox Ph.D. - The recent flood
of scientific papers and books being published undermine the global
warming hypothesis. See for example (http://tinyurl.com/34jx2m). The
more carefully the pillars of the hypothesis are examined the more implausible
it becomes. The man-made global warming hypothesis is failing scientific
scrutiny. (06/18/07)
Local
scientist calls global warming theory "hooey"
Samara Kalk Derby - Reid Bryson, known as the father of scientific
climatology, considers global warming a bunch of hooey. The UW-Madison
professor emeritus, who stands against the scientific consensus on this
issue, is referred to as a global warming skeptic. But he is not skeptical
that global warming exists, he is just doubtful that humans are the
cause of it. (06/18/07)
Global
warming and its evil twin "climate change" predictions wrong
on both counts - By Tom DeWeese - Global warming alarmists are a
clever bunch. They have very carefully changed the issue from "global
warming" to "climate change." Now any change in weather,
be it mild winters or cool summers can be attributed to "climate
change." Whatever the weather, the news is very bad. One claim
threatens massive storms thrashing our communities. Such a threat was
an easy sell in 2005 as Katrina was blamed for nearly destroying New
Orleans in a hurricane season that seemed without end. Surely it could
not be denied that climate change Armageddon was upon us. (06/18/07)
Global
warming is a heated and getting hotter - Global warming has been
getting quite a bit of attention lately and former Vice President Al
Gore has become a self-proclaimed expert. Maybe Al really does have
a good handle on the situation. There seems to be quite a few experts
who have differing opinions. That seems to be the case in many areas
of life. In a recent Sunday edition this paper devoted a full page to
the global warming issue. The two authors had completely different opinions.
They each had great educations and expertise in the area. I don't profess
to be very knowledgeable in this subject but I do have a few facts to
talk about. (06/18/07)
Pilots:
Air travel is a "scapegoat for global warming" - An airline
pilots group has hit back at the environmental lobby, claiming that
air transport has become a scapegoat for global warming. In a report
to be presented to government today (June 18), the British Airline Pilots'
Association (BALPA) investigates "the true impact of aviation on
the environment" and exposes certain half truths and untruths told
by air travel's critics. Stressing that the group is not sceptical about
global warming itself, but rather that aviation's portrayal as a major
polluter is overblown, BALPA chairman Mervyn Granshaw said: "We
were determined at the outset to concern ourselves only with the facts,
and what is clear is that aviation has become a scapegoat for global
warming." (06/18/07)
Global
warming hysteria: Rise of the eco-religion - By Alisa Craddock -
Global warming hysteria has taken on a new level of intensity in the
last year, especially since the election, to the point of belligerence.
I recently quipped to a priest friend of mine that Liberals know the
"Great Chastisement" is coming, and they're gearing up to
repackage the Wrath of God as the effects of "Global Warming".

Global
Warming Club gets Saxe School going green - Saxe Middle School's
after-school program had a new club this year. The effects of global
warming are embedded in the New Canaan's weather curriculum and as a
year end project in 2006, seventh grade science teacher Tekla diFate
held a Socratic Seminar to debate global warming. Seeing the students
respond with enthusiasm, she proposed the idea of a club to Saxe Principal
Greg Macedo, who approved.
With the help of fellow science teacher Anna Loper, the Global Warming
Club was born. (06/18/07)
The
ice age and global warming - We are told by some that the cause
of earth warming is factories with smoke stacks no matter that they
produce goods and employ people. Other causes are trucks, cars, trains,
coal, oil and gas. Then there is human over population. Much too much
co2 they say. Should we not know much about the planet, we are charged
with the responsibility to finding out, based on, "The truth shall
set your free." (06/18/07)
Think
about global warming, then act - By Dave Romenesko - There has been
much debate on the real and imagined issue of global warming. I believe
in global warming but the real issue is weather humans have significantly
contributed to the warming. There is a lot of debate and scientific
interest in that subject. (06-17-07)
LMAO! There must be an all out competition
out there to see who can come up with the most ridiculous reason to
blame man for global warming...
Global
warming? Scientist blames overpopulation - By HELEN FLORES, The
Philippine Star - A local scientist blamed Sunday overpopulation as
one of the causes of global warming. "Overpopulation itself causes
heat," said Jose Aldea, chairman of the Capiz Scientists and Inventors
Society. "Have you been in a moviehouse full of people? (The population)
has exploded uncontrollably and accelerated tenfold. Man has pursued
relentless activities, which include burning fossil fuels that raise
the carbon dioxide level. Call it a bad greenhouse effect," Aldea
said. (06-17-07)

UN Secretary

Global
Warming Good For Colorado Skiing? - By David Frey, Aspen Daily News
- (AP) COPPER MOUNTAIN, Colo. It's hard for ski resorts to see a bright
side to global warming trends that are expected to rob the mountains
of snow, but for one global warming expert, Colorado resorts may fare
better than some. "It's not all bleak, especially for Colorado,"
said Robert Henson, a writer and editor at the University Center for
Atmospheric Research in Boulder and the author of "The Rough Guide
to Climate Change." (06-17-07)

Global
warming's witch-hunt - By Michael D. Mason - To concisely summarize
global warming, water vapor accounts for 95 percent of the greenhouse
effect. Of the remaining 5 percent, carbon dioxide accounts for only
3.6 percent of the total. Further, of all the carbon dioxide released
into the atmosphere, only 3.2 percent is from human activities, meaning
that only about 0.12 percent of the greenhouse effect results from man's
activities. But there's even more. Nature converts at least half of
man's contribution back to carbon and oxygen, leaving us responsible
for less that 0.06 percent of the total greenhouse effect. These are
generally agreed on numbers even by the International Panel on Climate
Control (IPCC) if you dig deep enough. That ought to be the end of the
argument period. It's that simple. Instead, global warming has become
an international witch-hunt. Q.E D. photo synthesis (plant life) is
impossible without carbon dioxide. At 0.04 percent (four molecules out
of 10,000 air molecules) of the atmosphere, more is better, not worse
as claimed by the global warming groupies. (06-16-07)
Silver
lining postulated for global warming cloud - GHENT, N.Y. (AP) --
It's not in Al Gore's PowerPoint presentation, but there are some upsides
to global warming. Northern homes could save on heating fuel. Rust Belt
cities might stop losing "snowbirds" to the South. Canadian
farmers could harvest bumper crops. Greenland may become awash in cod
and oil riches. Shippers could count on an Arctic shortcut between the
Atlantic and Pacific. Forests may expand.
This is all speculative, even a little facetious, and any gains are
not likely to make up for predicted frightening upheavals elsewhere.
But still ... might there be a silver lining for the frigid regions
of Canada and Russia? (06-16-07)
Global

right. The world is about to enter another Ice Age. (06-15-07)

Global
Warming Alarmism and Religion - Together at Last? - From Peyton
Knight - This is a summary report from last Thursday's Senate Environment
and Public Works Committee hearing titled, "An Examination of the
Views of Religious Organizations Regarding Global Warming." In
her opening statement, committee chairman Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-CA)
said that "Evangelical Christians, Catholics, African Methodist
Episcopals, Jews, mainline Protestant Christians, and many other people
of faith see the need for action on global warming as a moral, ethical,
and scriptural mandate." The clear implication being that the religious
community, by and large, was of one mind on the issue. (06-14-07)

Carbon: We Will Have Man Made Global Warming, Like It or Not - Doug
Powers - Music can save the world, we're often told. This information
is usually distributed, not so surprisingly, by musicians or some attempted
semblance thereof. This theory is put to the test every time somebody
tries to feed a starving child a Duran Duran album, but somehow this
"truth" still manages to perpetuate and grow. Those most interested
in saving the planet, for its PR value alone, are often a breed known
as rock and pop musicians. These are people who can be some of the most
immoral, degenerate, greedy and repugnant individuals on the planet
who yet get off on pointing out what ghastly, uncaring capitalist pigs
the rest of us are. (06-14-07)

Global Warming Survival Handbook Just Arrived - If you were one

Jovi and Dave Matthews Band (or the 14 other awesome groups playing)
you're going to find yourself seriously educated and amused. While appealing
to those looking to sink into a couch and drift away in a sea of eco-related
tips, this little handbook also screams "skim me" and is very
good at making you take notice just by flipping through the 160 or so
pages. (06-13-07)
The
cold truth about Greenland : Global warming is real, but the island's

Extra-terrestrial
warming - An editorial - The Providence Journal - The planet is
warming at an alarming rate -- about half a degree Celsius since 1970.
But, in this case, the planet under discussion is not Earth. It's Mars.
NASA scientists say the Red Planet is being hit by such rapid climate
change that it could lose its southern ice cap. Could this mean that
global warming is not entirely a manmade phenomenon? Certainly, it would
be hard to blame Mars' warming on gas-guzzling SUVs and other fossil-fuel
pollution, or methane released by cows that have proliferated to gratify
meat-eaters. (06-12-07)
Global
warming discussion still alive - By Dick Little - So you think global
warming is a done deal. A large number of politicians and environmentalists
would like you to believe that. However, the fact is the scientific
community is badly divided over whether the hydrocarbons we produce
are the cause and each day a few more scientists studying the question,
jump off the "band wagon." There is a concerted attempt to
stampede us into accepting something that just might be a fraud. This
issue requires close scrutiny before any major legislation is developed.

"Fight
Global Warming, Give Up Meat" - By Kevin McCandless, Correspondent
- London (CNSNews.com) - A leaked e-mail message has led to speculation
that the British government plans to promote vegetarianism as part of
a broader strategy to fight climate change. In a message sent earlier
this year to a vegetarian lobbying group, the Environment Agency --
a statutory body set up under a 1995 law -- said it was considering
ways to deal with global warming, one of which was to encourage people
to eat less meat. (06/12/07)
Canadian
Economist Proposes Global Warming Solution Everyone Should Love
- By Noel Sheppard - Mark June 12, 2007, on your calendar, for on this
day, a Canadian economist named Ross McKitrick proposed a carbon tax
plan marvelously designed to make people on both sides of the anthropogenic
global warming debate happy. Of course, it is quite unlikely that any
American media will cover this compromise solution, for it calls the
bluff of the climate change alarmists. Fortunately, we at NewsBusters
are not so constrained to share facts with our readers. (06/12/07)
Call
their tax - Why not tie carbon taxes to actual levels of warming?
Both skeptics and alarmists should expect their wishes to be answered.
- Ross McKitrick, Financial Post - After much effort, G8 leaders last
week agreed to "stabilize greenhouse-gas concentrations at a level
that would prevent dangerous anthropogenic interference with the climate
system." This is the same wording as in Article Two of the UN Framework
Convention on Climate Change, signed in 1992. In other words, after
months of negotiations, world leaders agreed on a text they had already
ratified 15 years earlier. (06/12/07)
Rolling
Stone Finding Enviroleft Hard to Please - By Matthew Sheffield -
Since the left has, in Alexander Cockburn's words, become "entranced
by the allure of weather as revolutionary agent" comparisons between
liberal globalwarmingism and socialism are becoming increasingly apt.
One of those comparisons comes on the question of income inequality
and environmental correctness. No radical leftist can tell you just
how far the government should go to "fix" this "problem."
They won't be satisfied unless there is a mass redistribution which
is why attempts to placate them on this account are fruitless. It's
the paradox of the moderate. When you accept the premise of the extreme,
you are often bound to their results. The same paradox has come around
and bit Rolling Stone magazine in the butt recently as its efforts to
become more environmentally correct simply aren't working: (06/12/07)

More
Dissent on Global Warming - By Kevin Shapiro -
Though the fear of man-made global warming has come to dominate our
cultural discourse, the science behind the scare is looking increasingly
uncertain. David Evans is representative of scientists who have become
disillusioned with the theory that industrial carbon dioxide emissions
are the root cause of global warming: as he points out, the computer
models don't seem to fit the data, while at the same time evidence is
mounting in favor of alternative hypotheses, like the idea that climate
change may be caused in large part by fluctuations in solar radiation.
A series of articles by Lawrence Solomon, who has profiled prominent
climate-change dissenters, demonstrates that Evans is hardly alone-and
calls into question the often-parroted assertion that there is some
sort of scientific "consensus" on the issue (whatever that
might mean). (06/11/07)
How
Much is it Worth to Slow Global Warming? - When you get down to
it, addressing the entire economy to adjust to lowering
of greenhouse gases and reducing technological production environmental
impact to help mitigate global warming will take some actual monetary
cost. So-what are humans willing to pay for that, what is it worth right
now? "The reality, top climate economists say, is that cutting
U.S. emissions sufficiently to hold greenhouse gas concentrations at
near-current levels could soon cost the United States twice as much
per year as it is now spending on the war in Iraq." (06/11/07)

writing in a new magazine article say that global warming has nothing
to do with the decline of ice atop Mount Kilimanjaro, and using the
mountain in northern Tanzania as a "poster child" for climate
change is simply inaccurate. - Newswise -- The "snows" of
Africa's Mount Kilimanjaro inspired the title of an iconic American
short story, but now its dwindling icecap is being cited as proof for
human-induced global warming. However, two researchers writing in the
July-August edition of American Scientist magazine say global warming
has nothing to do with the decline of Kilimanjaro's ice, and using the
mountain in northern Tanzania as a "poster child" for climate
change is simply inaccurate. (06/11/07)

Next
for the Nanny State: The American Wall? - By David Karki - Most
of us remember well that night in November 1989, when East and West
Germans danced upon the Berlin Wall as the Iron Curtain finally fell
and communist tyranny's grip on eastern Europe was broken. The flags
of the former Soviet Union and its satellite nations became quaint collector's
items. What used to be most frightening turned into tourist attractions.
Communism was thought by many to be a relic, saved for history books
and museums, certainly never to be seen in real life again. Some even
thought "the end of history" was nigh at hand. (06/11/07)
Climate
alarmists lose another piece of evidence - By Dennis T. Avery -
Don't look now, but another big chunk of the "evidence" for
man-made global warming suddenly disappeared. Poof! Researchers just
reported that the world's most recent case of "abrupt climate change"-which
occurred a mere 12,000 years ago-was probably due to a comet strike,
not to "climate sensitivity." (06/11/07)

Adventures
in Global Warming - By Terry Easton - Once upon a time there was
a very mean witch who lived in a sunny and prosperous country which
she called Amerika (I don't know why she always spelled it with a 'k',
but that's another story...) She was very angry and very depressed because
the vast majority of the citizens of this fair country seemed to be
quite happy. And happy is to a wicked witch what oil is to water. (Two

Government

Microsoft's Windows Vista and Office sales drastically. (06/11/07)
Global
Warming Has Its Comedic Dividends As Well As Its Financial Returns
- Climate change got off on the wrong foot in 1974, when TIME magazines
cover pronounced the coming of "Another Ice Age," somewhat
prematurely, it turned out. Now, the same TIME magazine is warning us
that the old globe is on the verge of burning up, but no one giggles.
Instead, the media and the activists march along with the serene confidence
of a religious cult, convinced that the world is in imminent danger
and only they can save it. Besides, like any great public spectacle,
the Global Warming has its comedic dividends as well as its financial
returns. Why are rising temperatures a threat, anyway? (06/11/07)
Confessions
of a global warming heretic - Christine Whitaker - Television and
newspapers are filled with warnings about the dire consequences of global
warming. For instance, in each of two recent consecutive issues of the
Leader-Post (June 5 and 6), there were three stories related to this
subject. We are told that, over the next 30 years or so, our climate
will become so extreme that we will either fry in the intense heat or
drown in the floods. (06/11/07)

Warming vs. Terrorist Attacks: Red Nation, Blue Nation - By Michael
Barone - Listening to the recent debates among the candidates, monitoring

that the Republican and Democratic primary electorates are living in
two different nations -- or the same nation that faces two very different
threats. The Republicans want to protect us against terrorists. The
Democrats want to protect us against climate change. Each side believes
the other's fears are largely imaginary. Rush Limbaugh regularly treats
global warming theories as a "hoax." (06/11/07)
"Miss

to marry you. She responds, "I will seriously consider it."
Would you celebrate? Judging from their actions at the G-8 summit, a
European would. President George W. Bush just agreed to "consider
seriously" cutting greenhouse-gas emissions in half by 2050. A
cynic might view this maneuver as one more diplomatic ploy by the U.S.
to kick the can down the road and avoid a real commitment to do anything

The Nation
Slams Global Warming Alarmists Again: "Dissidents Against Dogma"
- By Noel Sheppard - Alexander Cockburn is certainly on a mission, albeit
one that is shocking the folks at The Nation are tolerating. After all,
in his current article posted at both The Nation and Counterpunch, Cockburn
indirectly castigated his own readers as he accused the left of having
"been swept along, entranced by the allure of weather as revolutionary
agent, naïvely conceiving of global warming as a crisis that will
force radical social changes on capitalism by the weight of the global
emergency." Powerful stuff to publish in one of the most liberal

Got
a Minute... with Bob Caldwell - By Jonathan Rich, Times-News Staff
Writer - Global warming has been occurring for 20,000 years. Everything
in nature is cyclic. What goes around comes around. Yes, we are in a
global warming period, but how much of it we have mitigated has yet
to be proven. Everything in nature is in a constant state of change
and yes, we will probably gain three or four degrees over the next thousand
years, but the ocean is not going to flood Yellowstone Park and palm
trees are not going to start growing on the top of Mt. Mitchell. (06/10/07)
Sanders
is wrong: Cause of warming unknown - Even though I am proud of Sen.
Bernard Sanders, I fear his new office may have made him out of touch
with the state of climate science related to global warming. His position
on global warming is, "In my view, the debate about global warming
is over. The International Panel on Climate Change, consisting of over
2,000 scientists from over 100 countries, has reached a unanimous conclusion
that global warming is real, and concluded with 90 percent certainty
that global warming is man-made." The debate about global warming
is not over. The "unanimous conclusion" of the IPCC is as
scientific as the unanimous belief once held regarding the sun revolving
around the Earth. (06/10/07)

Smoke
And Mirrors - Efforts to curb world climate change will get nowhere
until China and India fall in line - By ERIC MARGOLIS - Who would
have thought weather, that most banal of subjects, would become intensely
politicized and a subject of furious debate? World leaders grandstanding
at the G-8 summit in a heavily guarded German Baltic resort spent much
of their time trying to hammer out agreement on how to deal with global
warming. They pretty much failed, papering over deep differences with
the usual post-summit platitudes. (06/10/07)
Getting
all hot and bothered about global warming -
The stuff that causes global warming can, in a rather crude manner,
prevent it - Rod Liddle - India is not experiencing global warming,
apparently - indeed, its winters are getting slightly cooler by the
year. The reason is that the country uses lots of fossil fuels and the
resultant black carbon and sulphur smog prevents a whole bunch of sunlight
reaching the ground. In other words the stuff that causes global warming
can also, in a rather crude manner, prevent it. (06/10/07)

Dissidents
Against Dogma - By ALEXANDER COCKBURN - We should never be more
vigilant than at the moment a new dogma is being installed. The claque
endorsing what is now dignified as "the mainstream theory"
of global warming stretches all the way from radical greens through
Al Gore to George W. Bush, who signed on at the end of May. The left
has been swept along, entranced by the allure of weather as revolutionary
agent, naïvely conceiving of global warming as a crisis that will
force radical social changes on capitalism by the weight of the global
emergency. Amid the collapse of genuinely radical politics, they have
seen it as the alarm clock prompting a new Great New Spiritual Awakening.

Solving
Global Warming With Free Market Gas Prices - By Thomas E. Brewton
- New greenhouse-gas regulations will impinge upon personal freedom
and distort the economy. Rising hysteria about the alleged greenhouse-gas
role in global warming will predictably bring about a new miasma of
self-contradictory and harmful regulations. Socialism, the secular religion
of liberals and Progressives, preaches that only intellectual councils,
led by Al Gore, are smart enough to see clearly how everyone else must
behave and to impose the necessary regulations. Universal, bitter experience
demonstrates, however, that regulatory agencies cannot possibly foresee
all the effects of their actions. (06/09/07)

A
New War on the Planet? - By John Bellamy Foster - During the last
year the global warming debate has reached a turning point. Due to the
media hype surrounding Al Gore's film An Inconvenient Truth, followed
by a new assessment by the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change
(IPCC), the climate skeptics have suffered a major defeat. Suddenly
the media and the public are awakening to what the scientific consensus
has been saying for two decades on human-induced climate change and
the dangers it poses to the future of life on earth. Proposed solutions
to global warming are popping up everywhere, from the current biofuels
panacea to geoengineering solutions such as pumping sulfur particles
into the stratosphere to shade the earth from the sun to claims that
a market in carbon dioxide emissions is the invisible hand that will
save the world. "Let's quit the debate about whether greenhouse
gases are caused by mankind or by natural causes," President Bush
said in a hastily organized retreat. "Let's just focus on technologies
that deal with the issue." (06/09/07)

Global
Warming Key Factor in Increase of Cat Population : Increasing temperatures
across country major factor as cat populations rise at alarming rates
- KANSAS CITY, Mo., June 6 /PRNewswire/ -- These days cats outnumber
dogs by 13.5 million and that number is growing. Today more than ever,
animal shelters across the United States are reporting sky-rocketing
influxes of cats and kittens being brought into their agencies. Many
believe global warming is extending cat breeding seasons and causing
the cat population to swell. According to Kathy Warnick, president of
Pets Across America -- the largest umbrella organization for animal
shelters serving more than 130 million people, global warming is thought
to be a contributing factor to the dramatic increase of stray, owned,

15-Year-Old
Byrnes Outsmarts NASA's Global Warming Alarmist James Hansen - By
Noel Sheppard - On May 18, NewsBusters introduced you to Kristen Byrnes,
the fabulous fifteen-year-old from Maine who had torn apart many of
the myths purported by the Global Warmingist-in-Chief, soon-to-be-Dr.
Al Gore, in his schlockumentary "An Inconvenient Truth." Now,
the Precocious Ponderer from Portland is taking on the scientist that
Gore relied on for much of his misinformation, James Hansen of NASA.
In her recent report entitled "Houston, We Have a Problem,"
Byrnes identified a serious concern with this so-called scientist that
many anthropogenic global warming skeptics have been addressing for
years: James Hansen seems to have a busy life for someone from Iowa.
But the real question seems to be is whether or not Hansen is too busy
to realize what he is actually saying to the pubic. As Hansen attempts
to seduce, exaggerate, and alarm the public, some people (like me) attempt
to inform the public of the reality of global warming, its impacts,
and now, the truth behind James Hansen. (06/07/07)

Al Gore, a video Bible called "An Inconvenient Truth," and
dozens of Hollywood apostles who were fundamentalist, "turn or

my day more than an article written by a climate expert exposing the
Global Warmingist-in-Chief, soon-to-be-Dr. Al Gore, as nothing more
than a snake oil selling charlatan. (06/04/07)

| Causes of global warming? Hot air - Whoa, boy ... not so fast.
- Regarding "Relying on the power of wind" (May 26, Business),
Steve Everly writes, "The shifts come as concern grows about global
warming, which is caused by carbon dioxide created by the burning of
fossil fuels." The jury is still out whether carbon dioxide emissions
cause global warming. There is furious scientific debate regarding this
issue. It is not a foregone conclusion. Just because Al Gore says it's
so doesn't make it a fact.
Al
Gore: Shaman-in-chief? - letter to the editor: In what is an example
of 'technology may evolve, but human nature stays the same', it finally
hit me: the Global Warming alarmists have the same anti-scientific mentality
of the natives looking to make sacrifices to the gods so the volcano
doesn't erupt. In those not-so-ancient cultures, questioning the validity
of the shaman's beliefs and prescriptions was heresy; today, the chief
shaman is Al Gore, and to question the nature of warming is to invite
ridicule and, increasingly, banishment from the village. (06/03/07)

Govt's plans for carbon trading - SYDNEY, June 3 (UPI) -- Australian
Prime Minister John Howard Sunday outlined government plans to install
a carbon trading scheme during the next four years. Speaking at a meeting

cap on carbon dioxide emissions and a trade system would be in place
no later than 2012. (06/03/07)

India
to resist Bush pressure on global warming - By Y.P. Rajesh - Reuters
-- NEW DELHI, June 3 (Reuters) - India, one of the world's top polluters,
will not accept equal responsibility to cut emissions and combat climate
change despite U.S. President George W. Bush's proposal for a deal among
top emitters, officials said on Sunday. Bush, under fire for resisting
tough action on global warming, last week called on 15 influential countries
-- led by the United States, China, Russia and India -- to agree by
the end of 2008 on a long-term goal to cut greenhouse gas emissions.
The issue is a key topic of discussion at this week's G8 summit in Germany,
where Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh is expected to come under
pressure from Bush and leaders of other developed nations to do more
to curb emissions. "We are willing to work in partnership in this
process to cut emissions but we cannot accept equal responsibility,"
said a top Indian foreign ministry official. (06/03/07)

Global
warming play leaves some hot under the collar - By Ann Bryant ,
Staff Writer - FARMINGTON - Expectations of hearing Mt. Blue Middle
School band, orchestra and choir students perform Wednesday left some
parents deeply disappointed and even angry with the performance of "Hurricane
of Change," a Foothills Arts Center's production. The production
was an examination of global warming involving adult and teenage actors,
musicians and puppeteers, Foothills Arts Director Anne Geller said earlier
this week. Students from the After-School Program did some work on the
scripts and costumes, and the Mt. Blue Middle School band, orchestra
and chorus, along with a community chorus, accompanied the actors. (06/02/07)

Terrorism,
Global Warming and Fear - Commentary by Lawrence K. Samuels - If
politicians do anything well, it is to fan the flames of Chicken Little
hysteria. They have an innate talent for scaring neurotic people who
are prone to believe whatever government tells them about potential
threats. Neither side of the political spectrum is above using propaganda
to gain the upper hand in the cutthroat battle for public consciousness
and votes. (06/02/07)

Abuse
and Incompetence in Fight Against Global Warming : Up to 20% of carbon
savings in doubt as monitoring firms criticized by UN body - A Guardian
investigation has found evidence of serious irregularities at the heart
of the process the world is relying on to control global warming. The
Clean Development Mechanism (CDM), which is supposed to offset greenhouse
gases emitted in the developed world by selling carbon credits from
elsewhere, has been contaminated by gross incompetence, rule-breaking
and possible fraud by companies in the developing world, according to
UN paperwork, an unpublished expert report and alarming feedback from
projects on the ground. One senior figure suggested there may be faults
with up to 20% of the carbon credits - known as certified emissions
reductions - already sold. Since these are used by European governments
and corporations to justify increases in emissions, the effect is that
in some cases malpractice at the CDM has added to the net amount of
greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. (06/02/07)

Convenient Canard - By Peter B. Martin - Global warming will be
a key feature on the agenda of the up-coming G-8 summit meeting in Germany
and hot-headed Greens will be turning up the heat, chanting the gospel
according to Al Gore. They will be arguing that the greenhouse effect
(carbon dioxide) is due to irresponsible human activity, irrespective
of the fact that measurements confirm that during the post-war period,
when factories were functioning flat out, emitting enormous amounts
of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, the planet actually cooled down
and didn't begin to warm up until around 1975. (06/02/07)

experienced the warmest start to any year on record. (06/02/07)

Global
warming and a carbon tax - Global warming is occurring; it has been
doing so for more than 10,000 years. Glaciers melted without cars and
coal-fired electric generators. Our oceans shall rise and the climate
shall change, but why should we enable a new bureaucracy to give away
our freedoms and increase taxes? Paying for carbon emissions gives rich
folks a clear conscience so they do not have to defend high energy consumption
or private jet use. Methane is not addressed in the editorial. The United
Nations acknowledges that methane emissions from cows cause more global
warming than cars. Nor does the editorial mention that each human emits
hundreds of pounds of carbon dioxide per year. (06/02/07)

Publisher
aims to teach kids right from left - A Torrance executive says he sees
too many children's books with liberal views. His titles aim to tilt
the shelves the other way. By Stephanie Simon, Times Staff Writer
- Publishing executive Eric Jackson's first foray into children's books
was a cartoon tale of two brothers and a lemonade stand. Hoping to earn
money for a swing set, young Tommy and Lou squeeze lemons until their
little hands ache. But they are thwarted by broccoli-pushing, camera-hogging,
Jesus-hating liberals who pile on taxes and regulations and drive the
boys out of business. The book, "Help! Mom! There Are Liberals
Under My Bed!," came out two years ago. Jackson said it sold nearly
30,000 copies, which in the publishing world made it a bona fide hit.
That success reinforced Jackson's view that the nation's bookshelves
had tilted way too far left and that a correction was in order. (06/01/07)
The
Bored Whore of Kyoto - BY ALEXANDER ZAITCHIK - Nothing drove home
Russia's place in the growing pollution-trading business better than
what one carbon finance guy told me at a conference last month sponsored
by Gazprom and the World Bank. We were on drink number three or four
at the reception when he dropped the green pretense and came clean.
"I don't know if climate change is caused by burning coal or sun
flares or what," said the Moscow-based carbon cowboy. "And
I don't really give a shit. Russia is the most energy inefficient country
around, and carbon is the most volatile market ever. There's a lot of
opportunity to make money." (06/01/07)

Dodd
campaign highlights global warming - WASHINGTON, June 1 The campaign
of Democratic presidential hopeful Sen. Chris Dodd, D-Conn., has created
a TV spot in Iowa and New Hampshire highlighting environmental politics.
A Dodd spokeswoman said the ad, which discusses Dodd's policies aimed
at combating global warming, went up in the two states Thursday with
a "moderate-sized" buy, The Hill reported Friday. The ad says
Dodd's energy plan has been given the thumbs up by former U.S. Vice
President Al Gore and former Sen. Bill Bradley, D-N.J. This
one is just plain assinine. First of all, even id Clinton and Obama
dropped out Dodd has absolutely no chance of winning. Dodd has limited
resources compared to the top tier candidates and he's wasting his campaign
funds on this? LMAO! (06/01/07)

New
Report: Satellite Orbital Decay Accounts For Climate Models Inaccuracies
- George McGinn, AHN Reporter - Washington, DC (AHN) - In a study to
be published in the journal Science tomorrow, its authors claim the
world is getting hotter, and unexpectedly wetter. And it is already
drawing criticism. The results of the new study by Frank Wentz and his
colleagues from the research company Remote Sensing Systems in Santa
Rosa, Calif, challenges many of the world's most sophisticated climate
models, which predict that worldwide rainfall will increase at a much
slower rate than temperatures. AHN was unsuccessful at obtaining a copy
of the report. However, according to reports from those who have read
the study and other reports published on the same topic, Wentz's team
looked over satellite data from the past 20 years to prove that as temperatures
have risen, so has precipitation. (06/01/07)

Pelosi
says Bush "in denial" on warming - By Deborah Zabarenko,
Environment Correspondent - WASHINGTON (Reuters) - House Speaker Nancy
Pelosi called President George W. Bush's new global warming plan a "profound
disappointment" on Friday and said she wants Congress to pass legislation
this year to curb greenhouse gas emissions. Just returned from a European
tour focused on climate change, Pelosi said Bush's strategy, announced
on Thursday, "rehashed stale ideas" and made her question
whether the president understands the urgency of global warming. The
science is clear, and yet the president continues to be in denial,"
Pelosi said at a briefing. "Yes, he says now he believes that global
warming is happening and he accepts the science that it is ... But if
that were so, if he truly understood that, he could not have come up
with a proposal that is 'aspirational'." (06/01/07)

Global
Insanity Over Global Warming : Climate Change - The Latest Governmental
Folly - By Bob Webster - Contrary to the propaganda you've been
fed by the IPCC, Al Gore, and the dominant media, greenhouse gases in
general and carbon dioxide from fossil fuels in particular are not significant
contributors to climate change. On the eve of a solar minimum that could
usher in the coldest climate period since the Little Ice Age, an Associated
Press story out of Washington, DC, begins: President Bush on Thursday
urged 15 major nations to agree by the end of next year on a global
emissions goal for reducing greenhouse gases. With the United States
accused of dragging its feet on combatting climate change, Bush called
for a meeting this fall of 15 countries identified as major emitters
of greenhouse gases. This list would include the United States, China,
India and major European countries. Of all the examples of recent imprudent
government action, it would be hard to top Bush's call for reducing
greenhouse gas emissions (ostensibly to reduce climate warming). If
you've fallen for the message of the relentless media and political
assault on sanity that the cult of "global warming" represent,
then you're probably pleased that President Bush has finally joined
the concerned mob who are convinced that our climate will return to
"normal" if we just stop burning fossil fuels. If so, you'd
be dead wrong ... just as dead wrong as is Bush. (06/01/07)
